The Gators will head to Missouri for their second regular season meet.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida men's and women's cross country teams will hit the road for the seventh annual Gans Creek Classic on Friday, Sept. 26 in Columbia, Mo. The Gators will compete in three separate races, with the women's gold 6k beginning at 9:00 a.m. local time, followed by the men's gold 8k at 9:45 a.m. and women's black 6k at 10:30 a.m.
This is the second consecutive year the Gators will compete in the Gans Creek Classic, after last year's showing where the women took fourth with 131 points and the men finished tenth overall with 291 points.
Participating Gators
Eight men and 11 women will suit up for the Gators in their second regular season meet.
The men's race will feature sophomore trio Jonathan Leon, Riley Smith, and Riley Novack who each led the Orange and Blue in the men's 8k at last year's Gans Creek Classic. Two freshmen look to make their collegiate debut in Oussama Allaoui and Kelvin Cheruiyot, as Graham Myers, Gavin Nelson, and Josh Ruiz complete the Gator men participants
The women will split into two races, with the women's gold 6k first and the women's black 6k following the men. Desma Chepkoech returns to action after her standout debut at the UNF Invite where she took first overall to help the Gators with a first place team finish. Hilda Olemomoi and Tia Wilson will take the course for their first meet of the 2025 season following their notable placements at the NCAA Championships in 2024.
