GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida's Scotty Buff and Molly Mayne are part of the Southeastern Conference Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Community Service teams, announced today by the league office.
The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts. The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 22 league sponsored sports.
Buff, a junior from Bowling Green, Ohio, has participated in civic and educational community initiatives throughout his time at Florida. He has engaged with students from Gainesville's Parker Elementary School through stadium tours and classroom visits. Additionally, Buff took part in the Brandon Lang Memorial Sports and Climb for Cancer events, where UF student-athletes and participants spent the day playing sports and developing skills through a variety of athletic activities. He was a selected student-athlete for Florida's Gators Experience Summer Internship Program, where he completed an internship with a Gainesville-area company, dedicating at least 20 hours per week during the summer of 2025. As part of the internship, Buff attended professional development sessions with the Director of Gators Experience and staff from the Career Connections Center. During these sessions, he shared his internship experiences, reflected on his professional growth, practiced interview skills and built his network and personal brand. At the conclusion of the internship, Buff presented his experience and key takeaways to athletic department staff.
Mayne, a junior from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has demonstrated outstanding community service through a wide variety of projects throughout the Gainesville community. She has participated in multiple Parker Elementary events, including classroom visits and stadium tours. Mayne has engaged with students by building meaningful connections over meals through the Lunch Buddies program and has helped students develop a love of reading as part of the Gators Read program. Through Gators Experience, which houses career, community, leadership, and personal development initiatives for all Gators student-athletes, Mayne has connected with diverse groups while promoting health and education through community projects such as International Night Fall, Brandon Lang Memorial Sports Climb for Cancer, and Chomp & Chats. Additionally, she has spent time with children and hospital staff at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital, making a positive impact on patients and families.
The Gators open postseason competition today in Knoxville, Tennessee, at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, scheduled for Feb. 16–21 at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center. All meet information, including schedules, tickets, heat sheets/results, streaming links, parking and fan policies, can be found on the 2026 SEC Swimming & Diving Championships Central page.
