
Florida soccer sends Jayden Emmanuel and Paloma Peña to Birmingham, Ala., this weekend for the annual Student-Athletes Advisory Council meetings.
Florida Soccer Goalkeepers at SEC SAAC Meeting

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A pair of Florida soccer goalkeepers – Jayden Emmanuel and Paloma Peña - are in Birmingham, Ala., this weekend for the annual Southeastern Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) meeting.
They are among 29 student-athletes who will use this opportunity to engage with campus leaders and conference office staff. Along with Student-Athlete Leadership Councils for football and men's & women's basketball, SAAC provides a conduit of communication to the conference office on issues related to student-athlete experience, wellness and playing rules.
Emmanuel is a co-Director of 2025-26 Gators SAAC and Peña is the secretary. In July, Emmanuel took part in the SEC Leadership Council meeting held in Atlanta. She was a 2025-26 UF SAAC & Black Student-Athlete Council (BSAC) Executive Board member.
This past fall, Peña completed the GatorsLead Teams program and Emmanuel finished the same program in 2023.
Agenda items for the SEC SAAC meeting include a conversation with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey, a presentation from guest speaker Lauren Sisler, updates from NCAA SAAC, a review of NCAA & SEC Governance Structure & Legislation and SEC Start Up opportunities, and a discussion on SAAC campus programming.
