Florida Men Qualify 11 Swimmers for 2026 NCAA Championships

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The fourth-ranked Florida men's swimming and diving program qualified 11 swimmers for the 2026 NCAA Division I Championships, the program announced Wednesday.

The four-day competition will be hosted by the Georgia Institute of Technology at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia, from March 25-28.

Florida's Eric Brown, Scotty Buff, Koen de Groot, Ahmed Hafnaoui, Charlie Hutchison, Ahmed Jaouadi, Josh Liendo, Gio Linscheer, Jonny Marshall, Aiden Norman, and Alexander Painter will represent the Gators in 18 events at this year's championships.

Florida's 11 qualifiers are tied for the fourth-most by any school this year, matching Arizona State's total and trailing only Indiana (16) and both Cal and Texas (13). The Gators also qualified five relays, the 200 free, 400 free, 800 free, 200 medley, and 400 medley relays, with the 200 medley relay holding the fastest qualifying time heading into Atlanta.

Seven of Florida's qualifiers bring NCAA Championships experience, while de Groot, Hafnaoui, Hutchison, and Jaouadi are set to make their NCAA debuts.

Last year, Florida placed fourth at the NCAA Championships and brought home four national titles. Liendo captured his third consecutive 100 free title and successfully defended his 100 fly crown, while Marshall and Painter helped the Gators secure the winning 400 medley relay.

Additionally, Following NCAA Diving Zones, three Gators earned NCAA qualifying spots across eight events. Jesus Agundez Mora and Jesus Gonzalez advanced in all three diving events, while Conor Gesing qualified in both springboard events.

A total of 270 participants (235 swimmers and 35 divers) will compete in the championships. Swimmers qualified for the championships either by winning their conference championship in an event with an established minimum time in that swim or by meeting the established minimum time for the events in which they entered. Divers will be determined by performances achieved at the Zone Diving Championships held March 8-11. ESPN+ will provide live digital coverage for preliminary and finals sessions Wednesday through Saturday. Tape-delayed coverage of the men's championships will be on ESPNU at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Monday, March 30.
