Softball Secures Series Sweep at South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 6/7 Florida softball team (40-5, 14-4 SEC) earned its third Southeastern Conference sweep of the season on Sunday afternoon, downing RV/No. 24 South Carolina (23-20, 3-12 SEC), 6-1, to cap off a 3-0 weekend at Carolina Softball Stadium.
The Gators have won 16 of their last 17 series against South Carolina, with 11 of those series wins being sweeps.
Florida outscored the Gamecocks 26-3 on the weekend, hitting .371 as a team, while the pitching staff held the Gamecocks to a .190 clip.
Jocelyn Erickson went 6-for-10 at the plate (.600) in the series with five of her hits going for extra bases, including two home runs and three doubles. She also drew two walks.
Cassidy McLellan hit a team-best .625 (5-for-8) against the Gamecocks, with a double, a home run and a team-high three walks.
McLellan and Erickson each drove in seven on the weekend.
Kendall Grover led the team with 3 RBIs on Sunday, driving in three with a bases-clearing double, her fifth double in SEC play.
Keagan Rothrock (21-4) improved to 10-3 in SEC play, picking up her second win of the weekend, allowing just four hits with six strikeouts and six walks.
Olivia Miller tossed 1.1 innings of relief to seal the victory.

- Keagan Rothrock allowed just one earned run and four hits in 12.2 inning of work, striking out 14
- Madison Walker recorded her 8th multi-hit game, her third in SEC play, going 2-for-4 with an RBI double
