The College Baseball Foundation named Caden McDonald to its lone All-America Team as a utility player.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The College Baseball Foundation became the fourth publication to honor Florida right-handed pitcher/designated hitter Caden McDonald as an All-American on Wednesday morning.
The announcement marks the biggest postseason honor to date for McDonald, as he was named to the College Baseball Foundation's lone All-America Team on the heels of earning a trio of Second Team nods from Baseball America, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game. McDonald has now received All-America recognition from four different publications.
"This tremendous group of players exemplifies the highest level of ball played this season," CBF National Awards Chairman Chris Snead said. "This All-America team is littered with award winners and finalists as well and it speaks to how impressive the group is."
Below is a running list of all of Florida's All-America accolades from the 2026 season.
2026 Florida Baseball All-America Honors
Brendan Lawson, SS – Second Team (BA)
Aidan King, SP – First Team (NCBWA), Second Team (ABCA, BA, PG)
Caden McDonald, UT – First Team (CBF), Second Team (BA, NCBWA, PG)
After being inserted into the starting lineup on April 24 vs. Texas A&M, McDonald emerged as one of the nation's premier two-way stars by reaching base in 18 of 20 games and popping a team-best nine home runs in that span. Prior to the series at Oklahoma, only two players in UF history had recorded a home run, thrown three-plus scoreless innings and earned the win in the same game: Jac Caglianone and Brian Johnson. McDonald accomplished that feat twice in consecutive series against Oklahoma and Kentucky.
Concluding the 2026 campaign with a .319/.379/.702 batting line and 18 extra-base hits in 21 starts, McDonald also worked to a 3.42 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and .222 batting average against over 20 relief appearances. At the plate, the Tampa, Fla. native tallied 66 total bases, nine homers, nine doubles, 28 RBI and 22 runs in just 94 at bats.
