- Named a Second Team All-American as a utility/two-way player by Baseball America, Perfect Game and the NCBWA
- Honored as the two-way player on Baseball America’s National Team of the Week for three-consecutive weeks (April 28, May 5, May 12) while being named the NCBWA John Olerud National Two-Way Player of the Week on May 5
- Played in 41 games while starting 21 games at designated hitter in addition to making 20 relief appearances as one of the nation’s top two-way stars
- Concluded the campaign with a .319/.379/.702 slash line and 18 extra-base hits
- Posted a 1.081 OPS on top of nine homers, nine doubles, 28 RBI, 22 runs and eight walks in just 94 at bats
- Also worked to a 5-1 record, one save, 3.42 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and .222 batting average against over 20 relief appearances

- Prior to the series at Oklahoma, only two players in UF history had recorded a home run, thrown three-plus scoreless innings and earned the win in the same game: Jac Caglianone and Brian Johnson – McDonald accomplished that feat twice in consecutive series against OU and UK
- Named to the Gainesville Regional All-Tournament Team at designated hitter after bashing three homers in four games, combining to go 6-for-18 with a .333/.368/.889 slash line, 16 total bases, one double, eight runs and four RBI
- Pitched three shutout, one-hit innings backed by four strikeouts to log the save in his season debut at Stetson on Feb. 17
- Picked up his first win of the campaign after tossing three scoreless frames with three strikeouts vs. Florida A&M on March 4

- Homered for the second-straight game in the NCAA Tournament victory over Rider on May 29, going 2-for-4 with one double and two runs scored while pitching 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief
- Recorded his second multi-homer game of the campaign vs. Troy in the NCAA Tournament on May 31, finishing 2-for-4 with two big flies, three RBI, three runs and one walk

- 2023 Class 6A Player of the Year as Sickles went 30-2 with its first state title in program history
- 2023 Sickles High School Male Athlete of the Year
- As a senior slashed, .383/.528/.938 with twelve home runs, one triple, seven doubles, 33 RBI and 24 runs while drawing more walks (20) than strikeouts (18) across 30 games
- His 12 homers ranked second in the state in 2023
- Also excelled on the mound in his final campaign, going 11-1 with a 0.87 ERA, .145 BAA and 97 strikeouts across 72 2/3 innings
- As a junior, McDonald batted .600 over 105 plate appearances and finished with a 1.732 OPS
- Versatile athlete capable of playing first base, third base and outfield on top of his work on the mound
- Fired an 81-pitch shutout in the state semifinals and accounted for one of their two runs with a solo homer
- Ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 42 player overall and No. 15 right-handed pitcher in Florida while coming in as the No. 308 overall recruit and No. 100 right-hander nationally
