AS A SENIOR (2010): Appeared in eight games and was 1-0 with a 3.95 earned run average… Notched seven strikeouts and allowed four walks in 13.2 innings… Set down all three Oregon State batters he faced to close out the Gators’ 10-2 victory in the winner’s bracket game of the NCAA Gainesville Regional… Made SEC Tournament debut against LSU and permitted two hits and a run over 1.1 innings… Making his first start since April 30, 2006, Spottswood collected the victory at USF on April 21… Retired both Kentucky hitters he faced in the series finale… Worked three innings in game two at Ole Miss, giving up five hits and two runs with a pair of strikeouts… In his season debut on March 9 against Illinois State, the right-hander allowed one run on three hits in two frames.

AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2009): Pitched in five games and totaled six innings… Closed out the home victory over UCF by tossing a scoreless ninth and had a strikeout… Worked two innings in the series finale against Miami (Fla.)… Saw action in both victories over Eastern Michigan at the end of February, with two innings, four hits and a run.

(2008): Was sidelined for the entire campaign and earned a medical redshirt.

(2007): Did not participate for the Gators during the season.

AS A FRESHMAN (2006): Made 13 appearances in his rookie campaign and started eight games, the second-highest total behind the 15 apiece by Bryan Augenstein and Bryan Ball… Posted a 2-3 overall record with an 8.01 ERA in 30.1 innings and notched 20 strikeouts… Was the lone member of the Gator baseball team named to the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll… Started five games in conference play (Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia) and was 1-3… Collected the victory in the season finale against LSU with 1.2 scoreless innings… Did not surrender any earned runs in three innings during the finale at Tennessee but did not receive a decision as the Gators rolled to a 15-4 win… Set a season best with six K over 4.1 innings at UCF… Claimed his starting debut with six strong innings in a 2-1 edging of UNC Greensboro on March 7… Limited the Spartans to three hits and one run… Was one of seven Florida pitchers used in the 20-4 romp over Cincinnati on Feb. 12 that completed a weekend sweep.

SUMMER: Played for the Altamonte Springs Snappers of the Florida Summer Collegiate League in 2006 with Gator teammate Avery Barnes… Had a spotless 4-0 mark and a league-leading 1.02 ERA over nine appearances, including four starts… Fanned 28 batters in 35.1 innings and surrendered just four earned runs… Picked up two saves and was part of three shutouts.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner for head coach Ralph Henriquez at Key West High School… First-team all-state and first-team all-county selection as a senior… Named the team's Most Valuable Pitcher and Most Improved Player after giving up basketball and football to focus on baseball… Led the Conchs to a 27-5 record and their 11th state championship in 2005 by going 13-2 on the hill… His squad out-scored its opponents, 59-4, during the state tournament… Registered a 2.17 ERA, with 90 strikeouts and 17 walks in 77 innings… Was 4-0 in the playoffs with three complete games and an unblemished 0.00 ERA… Surrendered seven hits in 25 frames, culminating in a no-hitter against Pensacola Catholic in the state semifinals held in Sarasota… Notched 10 strikeouts without issuing a walk during the 9-0 win… Missed his senior prom to pitch in that contest… Was first-team all-county as a junior, when the Conchs captured the district championship.
