HIGH SCHOOL: Right-handed pitcher from St. Thomas Aquinas High School who played for head coach Troy Cameron…Named a second-team All-American by Louisville Slugger after going 8-3 with a 1.72 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 61 innings in 2013…Also named first-team All-Broward County by the Miami Herald and the High School Baseball Network…Helped the Raiders to the Class 7A state semifinals…Rubio worked 6.2 innings, allowing five hits and striking out four Haines City batters, but Aquinas dropped a 2-1 decision at the final four…Was a third-team Class 8A-6A All-Broward selection by the Miami Herald as a junior, when he was 6-0 with a 1.85 ERA in 10 appearances, including six starts spanning 34 innings…Member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society.
