Jack enters his fifth season with the Gator coaching in 2025-26 and his first year serving as the Men's and Women's Associate Head Coach staff, working primarily with the men's team. Since being promoted to full time after serving as a volunteer swim coach at Florida for the 2020-21 season, he has been part of the program's 43 SEC Championship event titles and 16 NCAA Championship titles (15 individual, 11 relays).
In his fourth season as part of the coaching staff, Jack helped guide the men to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships. The Gators captured four national titles, as as 10 swimmers combined for 32 All-American honors. Florida claimed 10 SEC titles and led the conference with seven swimmers named to the 2025 All-SEC First Team.Throughout the season, the men set nine school records and posted 30 all-time top-10 program marks. Florida also etched its name into the NCAA record books as Julian Smith set the NCAA 100 breaststroke record (49.51) and joined Jonny Marshall, Josh Liendo and Alexander Painter on the 400 medley relay that recorded the fastest time in NCAA history (2:55.66).
During the 2024 season, Jack was part of developing 16 All-Americans at the men’s NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. The Gators put together a total team effort to finish third at NCAA’s following five first-place finishes and tallying 30 top-16 finishes. During the SEC Championships, Jack helped the men’s team to their 12th-consective SEC Title and a men’s and women’s back-to-back program sweep.
During his first year as a volunteer coach for the Gators, he helped the men’s team to their ninth consecutive SEC Title and their best finish at the NCAA Championships since 2017 with a third-place finish.
As a Gator, Jack swam multiple events, specializing in the freestyle while at Florida from 2015-20. He also served as a volunteer coach for Florida for one year following the completion of his collegiate career. In his final year competing as a Gator, he qualified for the SEC Championships in the 50 free and in the 100 free. Florida went on to win the meet – the team’s eighth-straight SEC title. In 2020 Szaranek was invited to be a part of a relay at the NCAA Championships that were canceled due to COVID. Szaranek also boasted a successful academic career during his time at Florida, earning SEC Academic Honor Roll accolades in both 2018 and 2020.
Prior to Florida, Szaranek won the 50 free at the Scottish Team Championships and earned three medals at the British Youth Games. In addition, he holds multiple Scottish relay records and is a member of the Scottish Youth Development Squad.
