National/International Competition: Finished seventh in the 200-meter backstroke finals at the 2000 U.S. Open, touching the wall in 2:01.03...was 15th at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200 backstroke and 27th in the 100 backstroke...participated at 1999 Senior Nationals, where he finished 27th in 200-meter back with time of 2:06.21 and touched the wall at 58.52 in 100-meter back, good for 36th place...competed at the 1998 Summer Junior Nationals in the 100- and 200-meter back, finishing with times of 1:00.28 and 2:11.78, respectively...at '97 Junior Olympics in the 100-yard back clocked time of 52.48.
2000-2001: Part of the 400 yard medley relay team that came in 10th place with a time of 3:13.51 at the 2001 NCAA Championships...At the 2001 SEC Championships he was part of the third place 400-yard medley relay (3.12.82) and third place 200-yard medley relay team while individually coming in third in the 200-yard backstroke (1:44.38)...placed first in the 200-yard back in a dual meet with Tennessee, clocking in at 1:48.39...won the 200-yard backstroke at Miami...was second in the 100 back at the Florida Atlantic/Indian River tri-meet...was second in the 200-yard backstroke versus Auburn and in the Auburn/Arizona State tri-meet...won the 200-yard backstroke at Florida State with a time of 1:49.02...placed first in the 200-yard backstroke against Michigan with a time of 1:48.21, while his 400-yard medley relay team came in first with a time of 3:21.78...placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:49.21) and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (50.89) at the SEC Eastern Division Dual Meet Extravaganza...swam on fourth-place 400-yard medley relay team that finished the event in 3:25.92.
1999-2000: At NCAA Championships, earned All-America honors in the 200m backstroke, finishing seventh with time of 1:56.25...Placed 19th in 100m backstroke, clocking 54.45...at SEC Championships, placed first in 200 back preliminaries with career-best time of 1:43.79, automatically qualifying for NCAAs with then-third fastest time in the nation during the year...finished fourth in finals with time of 1:44.60...placed seventh in the 100 back finals with career-best time of 48.68, provisionally qualifying for NCAAs...set then-career bests in 100- (50.38) and 200-yard backstroke (1:48.23) events at Auburn...placed first in 200y back against FSU...Named to SEC Academic Honor Roll. 1998-99: At the SEC Championships, clocked season-best time in the 200 back prelims (1:48.29) to advance to the consolation finals in the event...in the finals, placed 12th (1:49.64)...also had strong performance in the 100 back at SECs, finishing 17th in 50.80, his second-best time all season...throughout the year showed solid improvement with best times coming during the big meets at the conclusion of the season...clocked season-best time in the 100 back (50.53) as leadoff on 400 medley relay team in dual meet action versus Tennessee.
High School: 1998 graduate of Wellington High School...took fourth in the 100-yard back at Florida State High School Championships...also finished in the top-10 at state meet in the 200 IM...team captain at Wellington and is school record-holder in both the 100 back and 200 IM...swam for Wellington H.S. and Wellington Swim Club Team under Lou Echerri.
