Adrain Mann

  • Entering 9th Season at Florida
  • 8-time NCAA Division I National Champion at Florida
  • 4-time SEC Champion at Florida

Adrain Mann is entering his ninth season as an assistant coach for his alma mater, the University of Florida, in 2024. Mann assists head coach Mike Holloway with the coaching and development of the Gators’ hurdlers and sprinters.

A five-time United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-American hurdler and sprinter for Florida in the 1990s, Mann returned to Gainesville in the summer of 2015 after spending a combined eight seasons coaching at LSU, Clemson, and most recently, Miami (Fla.). Mann coached sprinters and hurdlers at each of his previous stops. Mann holds a Level II coaching certification from United States Track & Field.

Mann, in his own words, has been privileged to gain insight and experience from tremendous head coaches, contributing to multiple record-breaking performances at the NCAA, SEC, and ACC Championships meets—both with the Gators and at his previous stops.

Stark continued her success in the 2023, under Mann's tutelage, as she placed fifth in the 100m hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and was named a USTFCCCA First Team All-American for her performance.

During the 2022 season, Grace Stark set school records indoors in both the 60 meters and 60-meter hurdles. She became the co-collegiate record holder in the 60-meter hurdles when she ran 7.78 to win the NCAA Indoor National Championship.

There were four All-Americans for the Gators during the 2022 Indoor season.

Outdoors, Anna Hall broke the school record in the 400-meter hurdles while Vanessa Watson moved into the top-4 in school history in the event.

Both Hall and Watson were First Team All-Americans in the 400-meter hurdles.

Florida's men scored 36 points in the three sprint events (100m, 200m, 400m) at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

In his eight seasons with the Gators, alongside Holloway, Mann helped coach UF's sprinters and hurdlers to 15 national titles, set seven collegiate records, 19 SEC titles, and 118 USTFCCCA All-America honors. That figure includes All-America accolades by Gators sprint relays, which have combined to score 27 times and garnered 11 top-three finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships with Mann on staff.

The Gators hold five collegiate records in the hurdles and relays. The men’s 4x100 relay became the first collegiate team to break 38 seconds, and Grant Holloway broke his own 60-meter hurdles record and Renaldo Nehemiah’s 40-year-old 110-meter hurdles record. Grace Stark tied the collegiate record in the 60-meter hurdles at 7.78 while the men's 4x400 relay broke the collegiate record in 2:57.74.

One of the top individual moments of Mann’s time on staff came at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships, where Eric Futch and TJ Holmes became the second pair of teammates since 1983 to finish 1-2 in the 400 hurdles national title race.
