Deana Allen was recognized by the Southeastern Conference’s coaches as the 2012 SEC Co-6th Woman of the Year - the first Gator ever to earn the award … came into her own during the last five games of the 2010-11 season – her first with the Gators – when she averaged 11.2 points and 5.4 rebounds, while dishing 15 assists with seven steals; continued that play into her second and senior year when she averaged more points, rebounds, steals and assists with a better shooting percentage overall, from the three-point arc and the free throw line, as well as an improved assist-to-turnover ratio ... a playmaker who made others around her better … seven younger brothers and sisters … tested during the 2011 fall as having a 28-inch vertical jump (second on team to Kayla Lewis’ 31-inch jump) … earn her bachelor’s degree in anthropology on May of 2012

Appeared in 32 of 33 games, missing only the season-opener against Michigan (Nov. 11), when she sat out after receiving a concussion during the Nov. 6 scrimmage against Gulf Coast Community College … scored in every game she played except one … all seven of her starting assignments came early during the SEC season, but came off the bench in the final 11 games … recognized by the league’s coaches as the 2012 SEC Co-6th Woman of the Year - first Gator ever to earn the award … team’s most consistent offensive threat in her collegiate finale, scoring 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while grabbing five offensive rebounds against No. 1-ranked Baylor in the NCAA Second Round (March 20) ... during UF’s three-game win streak in mid-February, averaged 9.7 points … UF’s leading scorer in two games that happened to be back-to-back, netting a season-high 17 points against Samford (Dec. 28) and 12 versus Kentucky (Jan. 1) … corralled a season-high 10 rebounds against South Carolina (Jan. 8) during her first start of the year, also contributing nine points, a team-best three assists with two steals … solid game in loss to No. 11/12 Rutgers (Dec. 2) when she totaled 11 points, converting 7-of-8 from the line and collecting two steals … first action of the year was against Stetson (Nov. 14), when she scored 11 points with eight rebounds … made her first-ever trip to the state of New York when the team competed in the Courtyard LaGuardia Turkey Classic hosted by Long Island University, Nov. 25-26 … 1 double-figure rebounding game (10 vs. South Carolina, Jan. 8) … 11 double-figure scoring games (last was 13 points vs. Baylor, March 20)

Appeared in every game (35) … earned 16 starts … scored in 32 games… collected at least one rebound in all except one game, with a career-best 13 at Georgia (Jan. 16) … UF’s third-leading scorer in SEC games with 8.6 points and third-leading rebounder (4.9 rpg), while averaging 24.1 minutes compared with 3.1 points and 11.2 minutes in non-conference games … in two SEC TOURNAMENT GAMES, tied for team-high in scoring (12.5 points) and rebounding (6.0 rpg) … in the LAST 5 GAMES, averaged 11.2 points and 5.4 rebounds, while dishing 15 assists with seven steals … tallied 17 points with three assists in the win at FGCU (March 21) … in the upset of No. 22 Georgia (Feb. 27), scored 10 points with nine rebounds and four assists, the last two coming in the final 2:32, with the first coming after a steal and the final dish to Jennifer George with 48 seconds remaining that gave UF a 72-71 lead … scored five of her six points in the final 8:36 of the win at Vanderbilt (Feb. 25), hitting a three-pointer in the middle of a 7-0 run … nailed a three-pointer with 20 seconds left that tied the game in regulation against Vanderbilt (Feb. 6) and helped send it into overtime, as she scored a career-high 18 points on 7-of-16 shooting, with 4-of-5 from beyond the arc … sank a three-pointer with 4.5 seconds remaining against Ole Miss that brought UF within one, but the Gators’ late rally fell two-points short … drilled what was nearly the game-winning three-pointer with 23.2 seconds remaining and gave UF a one-point lead against No. 19 Kentucky (Jan. 20), which hit two free throws to win it; scored a team-high 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting versus the Wildcats … became the fifth different Gator to tally a double-double this year when she recorded career and team-highs of 14 points and 13 rebounds at Georgia (Jan. 16) … became the eighth different Gator to lead UF in scoring in a game, when she tallied 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting in her SEC debut against No. 22/24 Arkansas (Jan. 2) … sparked UF against No. 25/23 Florida State, scoring 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting in 15 minutes … singled out by Coach Butler for sparking the team in its tight win against Navy (Nov. 27), dishing two assists and collecting three steals with her first three-pointer of her career and three rebounds … scored first points in a Gator uniform came during the season-opening win against UCF, converting a layup with 4:55 remaining in the game … hampered during the preseason with a hip flexor injury that limited her practice time … 10 double-figure scoring games (most recently 17 points at FGCU, March 21)
Prior to UF (2008-10)
Spent her first two collegiate seasons at Pensacola Junior College, where she averaged 19.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game during her sophomore year in 2009-10, when she helped the Lady Pirates finish eighth in the National Junior College Athletic Association’s National Poll with a 24-6 record … led the country in scoring for 14 weeks during the 2009-10 season … recognized as a 2010 WBCA and State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team Honorable Mention performer … named the Florida Community College Athletic Association Player of the Week on January 12, 2010, after leading PJC to victories against No. 4 Northwest Florida State and No. 10 Tallahassee, averaging 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals … led the Lady Pirates in scoring during the 2008-09 season, contributing 14.2 points per game … named the 2009 Lady Pirate Team MVP and voted First-Team All-Panhandle Conference … coached at PJC by Chanda Rigby, who has guided a number of other Lady Pirates to Division I scholarships.
High School
Graduated from Ellender Memorial High School located in Houma, La., in May of 2008 … one of the top high school players in the state of Louisiana … named 2008 Miss Basketball by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association and was the 2008 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state … recognized as the state of Louisiana’s 2008 Class 4A Outstanding Player and was named Class 4A First Team All-State following her senior season … collected similar honors at the end of her junior campaign, receiving notice as the 2007 LSWA Class 5A All-State Outstanding Player and a 2007 LSWA Class 5A All-State First Team selection … averaged 23.0 points per game her senior year and 15.6 points her junior year at Ellender Memorial, helping the Patriots capture the 2007 5A state championship and reaching the title game in the 2008 4A state tournament, falling by two points in the championship contest … represented the East squad at the 2008 LHSAA All-Star Game … played during the summers for the West New Orleans Lady Pride that advanced to nationals in Orlando but didn’t place
