Gator Cross Country Defeats Central Florida

The University of Florida men's cross country team defeated the University of Central Florida 15-50 in a 5-mile dual race held near Micanopy, Fla. this evening.
Florida senior Chris Duncan was the top individual, clocking a 5-mile personal best with a time of 24:47.85. His time was the second fastest ever recorded on the Micanopy course. The next six harriers to cross the line were Duncan's teammates. Freshman Steve Zieminski (25:04.08), sophomore Rolando Ortiz (25:18.97) and senior Courtney Chambers (25:46.90) also clocked top ten times for the course.
The first Central Florida athlete to finish the race was Danny Cook in 15th place with a time of 27:55.06.
The Gators will continue their season next week in Orlando at the Central Florida Invitational. The women's cross country team will open their season at the same meet.
