Cory Presnick was the men's top finisher in 12th place, earning All-SEC honors for the first time in his career. Steve Zieminski earned the second All-SEC honor of his career, finishing 14th with a time of 25:42.37. Steven Hassen, Brent Schneider and Moise Joseph rounded out the top five Florida finishers.
Mallory Dunn finished first for the women in 28th place with a 6K time of 23:30.00. Kay Lennon, Elly Kabboord, Jennifer Riley and Carling Cookerly were the additional scorers for Florida."The men finished where we were projected to be," said head coach Jeff Pigg. "We just didn't have anything special today. Neither performance was what we were looking for. Unfortunately we had many people not run good races on the same day and it was the wrong day to do that."
Thomas Morgan of Kentucky was the men's individual champion, while Arkansas took the team title. The Tennessee women took the team title. Angela Homan from Auburn was the top individual performer.The Florida teams have at least one meet remaining this season. They will travel to Auburn, Ala. for the South Regional Championships on November 15. The top two teams in the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships. The remaining teams will have to wait until Monday, Nov. 17 to see if they are one of 13 at-large teams invited to the championships.
