Men's Golf's Every Finishes T28th At U.S. Open

University of Florida junior Matt Every (Daytona Beach, Fla.) carded an even-par 70 on the final day of the 2005 U.S. Open to finish in a tie for 28th Sunday at Pinehurst Resort.
He was the highest amateur finisher in the tournament after notching rounds of 75-73-73-70 - 291 to end at 11-over. Michael Campbell won the event with an even-par score of 280.
Every tied for the fifth-best round on Sunday. He joined other notables such as Tiger Woods, Steve Elkington, Fred Couples, Ernie Els and Sergio Garcia as one of just 14 players to card an even-or-under round on the final day.
