Florida Volleyball Featured on National or Regional TV Five Times in 2011

The University of Florida volleyball team will appear on national or regional television five times during the 2011 season, the Southeastern Conference announced from its offices in Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday. In conjunction with ESPNU, FOX SportSouth, Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) and Cox Sports Television (CST), the SEC will have 16 live volleyball matches broadcast in 2011.
The Gators will have two matches nationally televised on ESPNU this season. Florida will host 2010 NCAA Tournament participant Tennessee on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. on ESPNU and Eastern Division foe South Carolina in Columbia on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPNU. For the first time, ESPNU will air every Wednesday Night Women's Volleyball game in high definition. Wednesday Night Women's Volleyball, which first aired on ESPNU last year, will also feature two doubleheaders and eight of the top 25 ranked NCAA teams according to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) most recent poll, during the eight-week series.
FOX SportSouth will be home to Florida's Oct. 16 match against Alabama in Tuscaloosa, airing live at 2 p.m. ET. Two of the Gators' matches will be aired live on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS). Florida's Nov. 6 contest with Ole Miss in Gainesville will be aired live on CSS at 2 p.m. ET, while the Gators' Nov. 13 match at Arkansas will be broadcast on CSS at 2 p.m. ET. Areas that are covered by Comcast will see the matches on CSS, while areas covered by Cox will see the matches on CST.
ESPNU reaches over 73 million homes, FOX Sport South reaches 25 million and CSS/CST reaches 10 million homes.
The Gators, the 2010 Southeastern Conference Champions, were 10-2 in televised matches last year en route to the first-ever 20-0 SEC season and the No.1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
