Tuesday, February 10, 2015 | Men's Tennis
Skillman, N.J. – With four weeks of the 2015 men's tennis season in the books, a new round of ITA Division I men's tennis rankings has shuffled a few of the No. 14 Florida Gators' top competitors.
Junior Diego Hidalgo remains undefeated in dual match singles through seven matches played in 2015, and jumped from No. 60 to No. 34 to lead the Gators' ranked singles players. Hidalgo defeated ranked players in two of Florida's last three matches, including USC's then-No. 8 Jonny Wang and Florida State's then-No. 99 Marco Nunez. Hidalgo was elevated to the No. 2 singles position in Florida's line-up versus in-state rival Florida State.
Rounding out the singles rankings for Florida are sophomores No. 81 Maxx Lipman and No. 105 Elliott Orkin.
No. 28 Hidalgo and Gordon Watson improved from their season-opening doubles ranking at No. 32. They are the only Florida pairing represented in the most recent rankings.
The Gators return to the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex on Thursday, Feb. 26 to host No. 4 Georgia at 5:30 p.m.
