HEARING OUT HOLLOWAY
“We had a really good day today in both Texas and Orlando. Very proud of the way the team finished off the weekend at Texas Relays. Both Shayla (Sanders) and Antwan (Wright) in finals of the 100, and of course Marquis (Dendy) and KeAndre (Bates) in the long jump, doing what they do best. As they always are, the relays were exciting and our ladies finished off the last event of the meet with a great 4x4, 10th best in school history. It was also really good to get some of our younger athletes down to Orlando to open the outdoor season and get some experience in before we get back home next weekend. Proud of Jontavia (Dykes) for a new PR for the second week in a row in the discus and saw some good progress on the track as well.
We are thrilled to get back home next weekend for the Pepsi Florida Relays and be in front of a home crowd at Percy Beard Track. It's such a fun meet for our athletes and everyone associated with the Florida program. It just keeps getting better and better each year with the number of quality athletes competing, from high school to college and of course the professionals and Olympians that come down to Gainesville for the weekend. We expect great weather, top-notch competition and hope to pack the stands again this year.”
