Florida's men are looking to narrow the gap between their second, third, and fourth runners this weekend.
Gators Racing in Elite Field at NCAA Pre-Nationals
Friday, October 14, 2016 | Cross Country
Four top 10 teams on both the men's and women's sides will be racing in Terre Haute
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The University of Florida cross country program, roughly two weeks removed from a strong outing at the highly-competitive Paul Short Run, faces an elite field at NCAA Pre Nationals Saturday (Oct. 15) morning in Terre Haute, Ind.
On the men's side eight teams are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA National Rankings, four of which are in the top 10. The women's race also features eight ranked teams, headlined by top-10 clubs Colorado, Oregon, Portland, and Stanford.
UF's women are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Paul Short Run, only finishing behind three ranked teams and a West Virginia club which entered this week's national rankings. The Gators, who received votes in the latest poll, should once again be led by senior Taylor Tubbs and freshman Jessica Pascoe.
Sophomore Elisabeth Bergh, an SEC All-Freshman Team honoree last year, will race for the first time since UF's season-opening meet back on Sep. 2.
The men were bolstered by the return of sophomore Jack Guyton and yet another outstanding performance from senior Carlos Miranda, who finished 13th overall.
Start times, team listings, and UF's expected competitors for NCAA Pre Nationals are listed below.
