No. 1 Florida (7-1) captured four of five outings last week, taking both meetings with Eastern Michigan (12-4, 8-7) before defeating No. 6 Miami twice in Coral Gables (5-0, 3-5, 7-3)…It marked the sixth time In the last seven years that the Gators had taken their regular-season series against the Hurricanes and the Orange and Blue has emerged victorious in 23 of the last 29 encounters…Ninth-year head coach Kevin O'Sullivan collected his 350th career victory on Friday night in Coral Gables…Florida's pitching staff held Miami to a .186 (16-for-86) average, compiled a 2.08 ERA, totaled 32 strikeouts and permitted six walks at Alex Rodriguez Park…Junior RHP Logan Shore (2-0, 0.64) fired his first career solo shutout in game one, while sophomore RHP Alex Faedo (2-0, 0.75) notched 12 strikeouts over 6.1 no-hit innings in the finale…Offensively, freshman second baseman Deacon Liput batted .500 (4-for-8) with five RBI and five walks against the Hurricanes and has at least one hit in all eight of his collegiate games on his way to a team-best .500 (12-for-24) average…Liput paces the squad with 12 walks, has drawn seven walks, roped four doubles and has a couple of triples…Junior first baseman Peter Alonso (.423, 10 RBI) went 5-for-11 (.455) on the weekend and sophomore catcher JJ Schwarz (.320, 12 R, 8 RBI) hit .417 (5-for-12) with five RBI and five runs…Faedo enjoyed a career day with 6.1 no-hit innings and a personal-best 12 strikeouts as Florida downed Miami, 7-3, in the rubber game of the series…The Gators' pitching staff carried a no-hitter into the ninth inning and totaled a season-high 17 strikeouts…Miami has not been no-hit in 52 years and redshirt junior Christopher Barr kept that streak intact with single into left field as part of a three-run ninth…After issuing a two-out walk in the first inning, Faedo (2-0) retired 10 straight batters and notched at least two strikeouts in five of the six innings he worked…The Tampa, Fla., native leads UF's pitchers with 19 strikeouts, lowered his earned run average to 0.75 and has limited opponents to a .098 average…Schwarz (2-for-5, two runs) drove in a season-high three runs with an RBI grounder in the first and a two-run triple in the seventh inning, while Alonso (2-for-5), sophomore Dalton Guthrie (2-for-4, two runs), Liput (2-for-2) and sophomore Jeremy Vasquez (2-for-3) contributed multiple hits to the Gators' 12-hit outburst…Florida's most recent no-hitter remains Jonathan Crawford's gem against Bethune-Cookman at the NCAA Gainesville Regional on June 1, 2012…Junior Zack Collins drove in four runs to power Miami to a 5-3 victory on Saturday night…With UF down to its final out, Guthrie doubled to left field, prompting a pitching change…Junior All-American closer Bryan Garcia replaced junior Cooper Hammond and junior Buddy Reed (2-for-5) delivered a run-scoring single into right field to bring in Guthrie and extend the game…After Reed moved into scoring position on catcher's indifference, Garcia preserved the win and collected his third save with a game-ending strikeout…Junior LHP A.J.
