AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2016): Appeared in 14 games for the Gators this season, making 5 starts…Pitched to a 3-0 record with a 1.57 ERA, which ranked second on the team…Gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 15 hits and 9 walks with 31 strikeouts in 23.0 innings pitched…Limited opposing hitters to a .179 batting average against, a number that led the team…Only allowed two extra base hits all season, a double and a triple…Made one start during the SEC tournament, hurling six innings of shutout ball while only allowing three hits and no walks to go with seven strikeouts in a 1-0 Gator win over LSU…This stellar start earned him All-SEC Tournament Team honors…Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for the third consecutive year…Selected with the 108

SUMMER: Pitched for the Madison (Wis.) Mallards of the Northwoods League last summer…Was ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the NWL by Baseball America…Made 13 relief appearances and was 0-0 with a 3.48 earned run average in 20.2 innings and registered 30 strikeouts…Did not allow any earned runs in seven of his first eight stints… Totaled multiple K in 10 of his 13 outings…Had four strikeouts over 2.1 innings in a 7-4 victory over Kalamazoo (Mich.).
HIGH SCHOOL: Left-handed pitcher who played for head coach Andy Lyon at DeLand High School…Taken in the 38th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft by the Colorado Rockies with the 1,129th overall pick...Ranked No. 32 in the state of Florida, No. 5 among lefties, in the Class of 2013 Final Rankings by Perfect Game… Was named to Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Florida All-Region First Team prior to his senior year…Earned all-state recognition in Class 8A and was a first-team All-Central Florida selection in 2013, when he was also the Florida Athletic Coaches Association District 9 Player of the Year…Chosen as the Daytona Beach News-Journal’s Player of the Year…Posted a 0.52 ERA, with 70 strikeouts in 40.1 innings, and had a 4-2 record on the mound…Tossed a two-hit shutout against defending Class 8A state champion Spruce Creek, which was ranked No. 1 at the time by MaxPreps…Participated in the FACA All-Star Game in Sebring…Was also a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Engineering Academy at DeLand…Earned a team academic excellence award.
