SUMMER: Played for the Madison (Wis.) Mallards of the Northwoods League in 2014 with Gator teammate Peter Alonso…Was 3-0 with a 1.92 ERA in nine appearances and made five starts…Registered 30 strikeouts in 28 innings and allowed only three walks…Ranked No. 25 on the Northwoods League Top 200 released by the league office…Worked six innings to pick up victories in consecutive starts against Kalamazoo (1 R, 2 H, 5 K on July 2 and 2 R, 4 H, 5 K on July 7)…Notched a season-high eight strikeouts over four innings at Green Bay on June 26…Did not allow any hits or runs and had four K in hurling the first three innings versus Battle Creek on June 18.
HIGH SCHOOL: Left-hander from Alachua High School who played for head coach Todd Gray…Ranked as the No. 10 left-hander in the state of Florida in the Class of 2013 Final Rankings from Perfect Game…Was named to Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Florida All-Region Second Team prior to his senior year…Three-time all-area selection by the Gainesville Sun…Had a 4-4 mark with a 1.30 ERA and 77 strikeouts in his final prep season, when he served as the team’s captain…Went 5-2 as a junior with a 1.52 ERA, striking out 68 batters in 59.1 innings pitched…Pitched the Raiders to their first regional playoff victory since 2003 with six shutout innings in a 5-0 triumph over Ocala Trinity Catholic in a Class 4A Region 2 quarterfinal…Was 6-1 with a 2.21 during his sophomore season, with 47 strikeouts in 50.2 innings…Helped Santa Fe win the district title.
