Florida enters the outdoor season ranked No. 3 (men) and No. 10 (women) in the USTFCCCA Preseason Team Rankings

LOS ANGELES – This weekend will serve as the start of the 2016 outdoor campaign for the majority of the University of Florida track and field program, which is sending a large contingent of competitors to the Power Conference Cardinal & Gold Challenge and a trio of distance runners to the Raleigh Relays.

While some of the team's throwers and distance corps took part in last weekend's Black & Gold Challenge in Orlando, Fla., the Gators' outdoor season will kick into high gear on Friday (March 25) and Saturday (March 26).

The Cardinal & Gold Challenge will pit the Gators against Ohio State, host Southern California, and Texas, all of whom are ranked in the top 16 of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Preseason Team Rankings. Florida checked in at No. 3 on the men's side and No. 10 on the women's side in the first outdoor rankings.

At the Raleigh Relays, Jimmy Clark, Eddie Garcia, and Carlos Miranda will run the men's 10,000 meters on Friday night.
