Florida Women’s Golf Set for Regular-Season Finale

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 8 Gator women's golf team will travel to Sunset, S.C., on April 1-3, for the inaugural Clemson Invitational. UF will look to capture its sixth team title in the last seven events at the par-72, 6,253-yard Reserve at Lake Keowee, which features a 14-team field, including seven of Golfweek's top-50 teams.
Last time on the links, head coach Emily Glaser's squad successfully defended its 2015 team title at the Briar's Creek Invitational. The Gators finished with an 11-stroke lead at -6 (858), with freshman Sam Wagner and junior Kelly Grassel notching top-10 finishes. The Clemson Invitational will be the Orange and Blue's final tune-up before the SEC Championships in Birmingham, Ala., on April 15-17.
Course Information: The tournament is being held at the par-72, 6,253-yard Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, S.C.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds, 18 holes each day.

Friday Rd. 1 – 8:30 a.m. Tee times
Saturday Rd. 2 – 8:30 a.m. Tee times
Sunday Rd. 3 – 8:30 a.m. Shotgun start
The Gators' Lineup:
Freshman Sam Wagner (Windermere, Fla.): Was named the SEC Freshman of the Week following her team-leading fifth-place finish at the Briar's Creek Invitational.
Junior Kelly Grassel (Chesterton, Ind.): At the Briar's Creek Invitational, she posted a collegiate-best second round score of 67 on her way to tying for seventh.
Junior Karolina Vlckova (Unhošt, Czech Republic): She leads the team with five top-10 finishes this season, her latest at the Gator Invitational, where she tied for seventh.
Sophomore Taylor Tomlinson (Gainesville, Fla.): Improved in every round of the Briar's Creek Invitational, recording her eighth under-par round of the season in Rd. 3 of the event.
Junior Sydney Needham (Villa Rica, Ga.): The transfer will make her debut in the Gators' lineup, she has competed in three tournaments individually, earning two top-10 finishes.
Head Coach Emily Glaser Says: "The field is strong and we'll look to continue playing well, but with the mind-set that each time we tee it up we're really trying to improve. So, we can continue to improve all the way through the rest of the spring. For us, we try to pace ourselves this time of year."
