The top-ranked Florida baseball team hosts a key SEC East series with No. 7 Vanderbilt this weekend.
GAINESVILLE, Fla.—No. 1 Florida (41-8/16-7 SEC) hosts No. 7 Vanderbilt (36-13, 14-10 SEC) for a key Southeastern Conference Eastern Division series this weekend at McKethan Stadium.
All three games will be televised nationally, with Friday's contest on SEC Network at 7 p.m., Saturday's game on ESPN2 at 4 p.m. and Sunday's finale at 1 p.m. on SEC Network.

- Florida beat USF 11-4 on Tuesday night and accomplished two important milestones. With the win, the Gators finished a perfect 14-0 in midweek games this season. They also reached 41 wins, tying for the most wins in the regular season in school history.
- With a 9-3 win on Sunday at Tennessee, the 2016 Gators squad became the fastest team in school history to reach 40 wins -- doing so in only 48 games. Previously, the 1996 team reached 40 wins in 52 games. Florida is also the first team in the nation to win 40 games this season.
- Entering the week, the Gators led the nation in strikeouts (504), strikeouts per nine innings (10.4) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.34).
- Three UF pitchers rank in the top 27 nationally in strikeout to walk ratio: sophomore RHP Alex Faedo ranks 11th (7.58), junior RHP Dane Dunning is 16th (6.78) and junior RHP Logan Shore is 27th (5.83). Faedo and Dunning rank second and third in the SEC, respectively, with Shore ranking sixth in the league.
- Junior LHP A.J. Puk and Faedo are among the best in the country at fanning batters, ranking sixth and seventh respectively. Puk leads the SEC with 12.70 strikeouts per nine innings and Faedo is second with 12.29 strikeouts per nine.
- Florida has won Shore's last 17 starts dating back to 2015. He won at Tennessee (6 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 ER), giving him a win in 14-straight decisions.
- Junior 1B Peter Alonso leads the Gators offense with a .354 average on the season. He enters the weekend on a career-best eight-game hitting streak after recording three hits in Tuesday's win over USF. He's batting .429 (9-for-21) over the past five games.
- Over the last five games, sophomore C/DH Mike Rivera (8-for-18) leads the team with a .444 average. Rivera had six RBI at Tennessee, including a career-high four RBI in Sunday's win over the Vols.
- Junior LHP Kirby Snead (3-1, 1.36) leads the SEC and is third in the country with 32 appearancecs this year. His 92 career appearances ranks seventh in school history.
- Junior RHP Shaun Anderson (3-0, 1.08) ranks second in the SEC and 18th nationally with 10 saves on the season.
- Junior CF Buddy Reed is 22-for-24 on the basepaths, the most steals by a Florida player since Matt den Dekker had 23 stolen bases in 2010.
