Florida and Kentucky will meet in mid-week action Wednesday on SEC Network.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Following a fifth road swing in the last six weeks of play, the new No. 5 Gators (12-1, 2-0 SEC) return home to the Lemerand Athletic Center for their SEC home opener against the Kentucky Wildcats (9-4, 2-0 SEC) Wednesday evening for what promises to be an exciting atmosphere and thrilling SEC match.
First serve is slated for 8 p.m. on SEC Network with Sam Gore and Missy Whittemore. Gators' play-by-play Tom Collett and color analyst Josh Crow will have the call on the ESPN Gainesville airwaves. Gator fans are encouraged to wear ORANGE.
Florida is riding the second-longest win streak in the nation (12 matches) into the mid-week tilt against UK. The Gators have won 12 straight after falling 3-1 to defending national champion Nebraska in their season opener. The Huskers sit just ahead of the Gators with a 27-match win streak going.
The Orange and Blue have won 10 of the last 12 meetings with Kentucky; the two teams split in 2015, with the Gators falling at home (1-3) and then defeating the Wildcats in the second portion of the SEC season in Lexington (3-1).

UF is 417-45 (.903) all-time in SEC play, including a 391-23 mark the past 25 seasons under Mary Wise, and opened the 2016 conference slate with two victories on the road last weekend at Ole Miss and Alabama.
Florida enters the Gators-Wildcats showdown boasting the SEC's Defensive Player of the Week in Caroline Knop and Freshman of the Week in Rachael Kramer. Florida hit .372 last weekend and was had a stellar block with 3.57 blocks per set to open conference play. Senior Alex Holston put down a team best 4.14 kills per set and 4.79 points per set.
Kramer, who has started Florida's last seven matches, has skyrocketed to the top of the SEC overall (.596) and conference (.613) standings in hitting efficiency since a breakout performance at No. 13 Florida State Sept. 14. The 6-8 middle has just six errors in 94 swings this season and posted a career best .727 clip in the sweep of Alabama Sunday. At the net, Kramer and company are helping Knop patrol the back row with quality touches. The Gators' junior libero from Pasadena had a staggering 31 digs against Ole Miss Friday in Florida's SEC opener on the way to her 6.00 digs per set last weekend. Knop ranks second in the SEC through the first weekend of league play in digs per set and has 10 double-digit dig efforts on the season so far.

Florida's offense ranks No. 1 in the nation in hitting efficiency on the season (.352). The Gators check in No. 9 in assists per set (13.59), paced by redshirt sophomore Allie Monserez's 12.43 assists per set, also tops in the nation. UF's 14.43 kills per set are 13th in the NCAA entering Wednesday's match and Florida is 14th in the country in blocks per set (2.93). Florida has held its opponents to a .154 clip this season, 24th in the country. The Gators have now held 10 of 13 opponents under a .200 clip, have put together five double-digit block efforts in the last six matches and seven double-digit block matches so far this season.
Led by Knop's ball control and elite back-row play, Florida has had one reception error or less in seven matches this season, including three perfect receiving matches (Michigan State, Jacksonville, Alabama).
