
Five Gators Earn AVCA All-Region Accolades

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Five Florida student-athletes were named to the 2017 AVCA All-Southeast Region Team, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Gators' five all-region honorees trailed only Texas (six) and were tied with Kentucky, Penn State and Stanford for the second-most by any program in the country this year.
Three-time All-American middle blocker Rhamat Alhassan, the 2017 SEC Player of the Year, earned her fourth all-region accolade. Alhassan is just the fifth Gator in history to be a four-time AVCA All-Region / District selection.
Senior outside hitter Carli Snyder earned her third such honor, while senior libero Caroline Knop picked up her second consecutive all-region laurel. Fifth-year senior right side Shainah Joseph and sophomore middle blocker Rachael Kramer collected the first all-region awards of their respective careers.

- Three-time AVCA All-American (2014 – Second Team; 2015 – First Team; 2016 – Third Team)
- Four-time All-SEC (seventh Gator in history to do so)
- Leads the nation in blocks per set (1.74) and ranks 15th in hitting percentage (.399)
- One of three Division I players since 2010 to average at least 1.70 blocks per set and hit above .355
- Tied for the seventh-highest career hitting percentage (.423) in Division I history
- Named All-SEC for the first time in her career last month
- Ranks sixth in the SEC and tied for 47th nationally in hitting percentage (.368)
- Posted 10 matches of 10-plus kills and four matches of 15-plus points this season, including three outings with 19-plus kills
- Two-time SEC Community Service Team honoree (2015, 2016)
- Two-time All-SEC selection
- Ranks fourth in the SEC and in the top 100 nationally in digs per set (4.53)
- On pace for sixth-highest single-season digs per set average in school history
- Two-time All-SEC selection
- Ranks sixth nationally and leads the SEC in service aces per set (0.50)
- Ranks fifth in the SEC in points per set (4.21) and seventh in kills per set (3.46)
- Also ranks in the top 100 nationally in points per set
- Earned her first All-SEC honor last month
- Ranks seventh nationally and leads the SEC in hitting percentage (.434)
- Ranks ninth in the SEC in blocks per set (1.08)
- Has 15 matches with double-digit kills and nine matches with five-plus blocks (only had five and six, respectively, last season)
