Gators in Friday's Action:
Florida finished September play with a scoreless tie at Mississippi State. Florida had several good looks, as UF outshot MSU 20-15, but couldn't convert any opportunities into scores.
The shutout was Florida's third of the season. It was the 25th for senior goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese. She is now two away from tying Florida's career solo shutout record.
UT Quick Hits:
Tennessee is the fourth top-10 opponent for Florida this season. The Vols faced one top-15 opponent so far, dropping their only match of 2018 to then No. 15 South Carolina to open SEC play. Since that loss, UT won three straight, outscoring its opponents 6-1.
Senior Bunny Shaw leads the Vols in 2018 with seven goals. She provided all the UT scoring in Friday's 3-1 win at Kentucky. Shaw will not be in Gainesville Thursday, as she joins past Gator Lauren Silver on the Jamaican National Team for Friday's CONCACAF Championship action versus Canada (and Florida's Deanne Rose) in Edinburg, Texas.
Senior UT goalkeeper Shae Yanez has started every match and her 0.363 goals against average is No. 11 in NCAA Division I play.
Brian Pensky is in his seventh season as UT's head coach.
