Tuesday, October 23, 2018 | Men's Golf
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Gators men's golf team finished their fall season with a ninth place finish at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational.
Senior Gordon Neale shot up the leaderboard in his final round, moving up 23 spots and carding his lowest score of the tournament with a three-under 69. Freshman Aden Ye had the best individual finish, coming in at T17 after shooting even par in all three rounds.
After a hot start and an opening round score of 68, sophomore Chris Nido couldn't recover from late bogeys in his second and third rounds.
Coach's Take
"Today was the end to a very challenging semester. We've had a ton of adversity that I believe is going to make us a stronger team when we need it most. I'm proud of how our guys battled this semester. We have obviously not had our best stuff, but we have been extremely resilient. Once we figure it out, we are going to be a top team.
Thankfully, they don't hand out any rings in the fall. We've got some time to get it right and I promise there won't be a team that works harder than we are going to work over the next three months." - Head Coach JC Deacon
