
Gators-Wildcats Set for Nationally Televised Match

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 11 Florida Gators are set to face off against the No. 12 Kentucky Wildcats on nationally televised stage.
The match will air on ESPNU with Paul Sunderland and Karch Kiraly on the call in Lexington. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
Florida (19-4, 10-1 SEC) sits second in the conference behind Kentucky (16-4, 10-0 SEC). This is the only meeting between two squads this season.
This is the third-straight meeting where both teams have been ranked in the Top-15 of the AVCA Coaches Poll – the teams split last season's meeting 1-1.
Florida – who currently sits at 999 program wins – has an opportunity to win its 1,000 match as a program against the Wildcats. The only other Division I programs to have reached the 1,000 win mark since 1984 – Penn State (1,092) and Nebraska (1,003).
The Gators hold the 51-13 series advantage over the Wildcats, including a 49-6 record under Mary Wise and a 23-5 record in Lexington, Ky.
Florida won the last meeting, 3-0, on Nov. 1, 2017 at Kentucky. The Gators took the first set, 25-19, followed by a 25-23 win in the second set. UF then secured the match victory with a 25-22 win in the final set.
UF hit .327 as a squad, racking up 49 kills along the way. During the match, Florida held the Wildcats to a .170 hit clip and only 36 kills.
As a team, UF collected eight blocks to Kentucky's five.
Then-senior Carli Snyder posted a team-best 15 kills, followed by 12 from Shainah Joseph. Returner Rachael Kramer recorded eight kills along with two blocks.
Allie Monserez led the way with 25 assists and six digs, while Paige Hammons and Allie Gregory both registered a service ace apiece.
