GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Eight Gator women were invited to compete at the NCAA Championships in Columbus, Ohio, as the NCAA released on Wednesday.
The Championship will be held March 14-17 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on Ohio State's campus.
Taylor Ault, Emma Ball, Hannah Burns, Sherridon Dressel, Savanna Faulconer, Kelly Fertel, Amelia Maughan and Sydney Sell advanced to the national championships based on their season-best times in five different events.
Three relays also qualified for the NCAA Championships, with the 800 free relay hitting the qualifying standard. The 200 medley relay and 400 free relay both qualified with provisional standard times.
The Gators bring a plethora of NCAA experience to the meet, with all but two swimmers selected having competed in at least one Championship. Freshman Ault and sophomore Dressel are making their first appearance at NCAAs.
Maughan brings the most experience with three Championships under her belt, while Burns has competed at two NCAAs.
Ball, Dressel, Faulconer, Fertel and Sell are all set to make their second NCAA appearances.
Junior Kahra Williams was selected as an alternate in the women's 1,650 free with a time of 16:13.39.
Although they were not invited to NCAAs other events, each Gator can potentially add an optional event in which they have met the minimum time standard. The other events in which the invited swimmers have recorded B standard times can be found here.
After NCAA Zones, the women have a potential to add divers to the NCAA women's roster. Diving invitations will be released with the conclusion of all five diving zone meets.
