
Gators set to defend title at Schenkel Invitational

Florida looks to ride momentum after Southern Highlands victory
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- After winning the Southern Highlands Invitational, the Gators travel to Statesboro, Ga. for the Schenkel Invitational which starts Friday.
Florida is the defending champions at the event winning last year's edition by two strokes. The Gators shot 18-under par as they shot 6-under par each day to claim the title.
Four Gators return to the starting five this week as freshman Won Jun Lee slides into the No. 5 position after an impressive finish in Las Vegas.
Lee tied for 11th while playing as an individual. This is the second time he will be inserted into the lineup as he also played at the Nike Collegiate back in October.
The top two in the lineup stay the same as Gordon Neale anchored the top of the lineup for the fifth straight event. Neale was Florida's top finisher in the desert tying for seventh on the leaderboard.
Andy Zhang will be the No. 2 for the second straight tournament as he tied for 20th at 2-over par at the Highlands.
Blake Dyer will also travel with the five as he will compete as an individual after not traveling out to Nevada.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds over three days. The Gators are in the first group off of No. 1 teeing off at 10:30 a.m. (ET) with the final group off at approximately 11:06 a.m. (ET)
The Gators' Lineup
Neale remains a fixture at the top of the lineup after being the Gators top finisher at the Southern Highlands.
Zhang remains in the No. 2 position after helping Florida to it's second tournament victory of the season in Las Vegas.
Chris Nido
Nido paced the Gators in the final round of the Southern Highlands as he shot 4-under par helping the team to a four shot win while placing 16th individually.
John Axelsen
Axelsen moves up one spot in the lineup after shooting even par to tie Nido for 16th on the leaderboard.
Won Jun Lee
After competing in the last two tournaments as an individual, Lee is in the Gators lineup for the first time since Nike Collegiate. Lee was Florida's top finisher in Oregon placing 14th.
Also Competing
Blake Dyer
The Gator sophomore returns to competition after sitting out the Southern Highlands. Dyer placed 37th at the Gator Invitational.
