Sokolowski Named to Detroit Tour Roster for U.S. Collegiate National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Rising redshirt sophomore Mia Sokolowski was one of the 24 players chosen to the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team bound for Detroit this summer, USA Volleyball announced Tuesday afternoon.
The team will train and compete in Detroit from June 22 through July 1, according to the announcement. Sokolowski was one of four opposites named to the roster. Athletes were selected for the team based on a three-day tryout last month.
The Tucson, Ariz., native played an integral role in Florida's run to the NCAA Championship match as a redshirt freshman this past season. Sokolowski hit .444 in Florida's NCAA First Round sweep of Alabama State, tallied five kills and a block assist in the Gators' win over UCLA in the NCAA Regional Semifinals, seven kills and a .308 clip in the five-set thriller over Southern California in the NCAA Regional Championship, and five kills and three block assists in the NCAA Semifinals win over Stanford.
Late last month, early enrollee Thayer Hall and rising junior Rachael Kramer were named to the 12-player roster for the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team's China Tour. That team will train and compete in China from May 20-31.
Florida is the only school with two representatives on the China Tour roster.
Kramer, a 2017 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Third Team selection, is one of three middle blockers on the roster, while Hall is one of four outside hitters.
The pair also donned the Red, White, and Blue last summer. Hall earned MVP honors and led the U.S. Women's Junior National Team to a gold medal at the U20 Pan American Cup, which qualified the Americans for the FIVB U20 World Championships. Hall was selected for that team as well, with Kramer joining the group.
