Gators close out regular season at Liz Murphey

Florida competing in event first time since 2012
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida heads to Georgia for it last event of the regular season, the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.
The tournament will serve as a tune-up ahead of next week's SEC Tournament in Birmingham. The field will include five teams from the SEC including the host Bulldogs.
The Gators will compete in the Liz Murphey for the first time since the 2012 season when they finished third. Florida lone win came in 2002 when the Gators took the tournament by a stroke.
Florida, winners of two of its last three tournaments, will have some shake ups in the lineup this weekend. Marta Perez moves to the top spot for the second time this season and third time as a collegiate.
Perez has helped anchor the Gators this spring including top 15 finishes in her last three events.
Making her first collegiate start in the No. 4 position is freshman Lauren Waidner. She has competed in four events this season as an individual including three this spring.
The Gators will be paired with Kennesaw State on the first day teeing off between holes 3-5 in a shotgun format.
Course Information: The tournament is being played at the Par 72, 6,300 yards at University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga. The tournament began in 1973 as the Georgia Invitational before becoming the Women's Southern Intercollegiate Championships from 1977-94. In 1995, the tournament was renamed in honor of Liz Murphey, UGA's Hall of Fame golf coach and long-time Senior Woman Administrator.
Format: 54-hole stroke play where teams will play three rounds over two days. The first 36-holes will be played on Friday with the final round of play on Saturday.
The Gators' Lineup
Perez moves up to the No. 1 position for the first time since the Windy City Classic in October. She has finished in the top 15 in the last three tournaments.
Brooks has finished inside of the top five in four of her five tournaments this spring. She shot three rounds of 70 (-2) for a fifth place finish at the Evans Derby in March.
Tomlinson has posted four top 25 finishes in her last five events including season-high finishes at the Florida Challenge and Sugar Bowl when she tied for 11th.

The Gator freshman rounds out the starting five. Baggarly has been in the lineup in all but one event this season posting three top 25 finishes in her rookie campaign.
