Ida Jarlskog Transfers to Gators

Ida Jarlskog attended and played her freshman year at Georgia Tech.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Joining the Gator women's tennis team for the 2018-19 season is Ida Jarlskog (E-duh), shared Coach Roland Thornqvist.
Jarlskog signed a Southeastern Conference Grant-In-Aid Agreement and will eligible to play immediately. She attended and played her freshman year at Georgia Tech and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

FRESHMAN YEAR at Georgia Tech (2017-18)
- Overall singles record: 28-8 (dual matches: 20-4)
- Doubles record: 24-12 (dual matches: 15-8)
- Won final 13 singles matches (all duals) of the season
- Played dual match singles positions 2 through 5, but the majority coming with a 6-1 record at No. 3 and a 12-2 mark at No. 4
- Final match was a straight-set win against Vanderbilt's Emma Kurtz at the No. 4 spot in the 2018 NCAA Team Championships semifinals
- Clinched GT's 4-3 NCAA Quarterfinal win against UCLA with a 7-6 (6), 0-6, 6-3 upset of No. 67 Abi Altick
- Georgia Tech ranked as high as No. 2 in the country in 2017-18
- Ranked as high as No. 58 in singles (Feb. 7, 2018)
- Ranked as high as No. 48 in doubles (May 3, 2018)
- Season-ending singles rank: No. 95
- Season-ending doubles rank: No. 68
- Preseason ranked No. 8 for singles in the nation (Sept. 12) among all freshmen-newcomers
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Ranked as high as No. 59 in Junior ITF rankings
- Represented her native Sweden in numerous international competitions, including the 2016 ETA (European Tennis Association) Summer Cup
- Qualified for the 2016 US Open Juniors Championship and reached the quarterfinals of the 2016 European Junior Championships
- Semifinalist at the 2016 Belgian International Junior Championships
- Doubles runner-up at the 3rd Hammamet ITF Juniors Tournament in Tunisia in Jan. 2016
- Singles and doubles finalist at the 2016 EuroElite ITF Junior Malmo Open in Sweden
