GAINESVILLE, Fla. โ Florida men's tennis will open the season as a host site for the 11th annual ITA Kickoff Weekend January 26-27 at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.

Florida will face off against William and Mary on Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by a contest with either Louisville or FAU on Sunday.

The No. 4 Gators will serve as one of the 15 regional sites of the four team event. Host sites for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend were determined using the final 2017-18 Oracle/ITA Rankings. The winner of the event will advance to next month's ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Chicago, Illi. (Feb. 15-18).

Opening round contests pits the No. 1 (host) seed vs. the No. 4 seed and the No. 2 seed against the No. 3 seed.ย The two winners advance to Sunday's championship match (11 a.m.), while the two losing teams will square off in a consolation match (9 a.m.).

This will be the 10th time in school history that the Gators have hosted Kickoff weekend with the first time coming back in 2010 when Florida hosted Furman, Georgia Tech and Penn State. Florida has advanced through to the National Indoor Championships seven times (2010-2014, 2017-2018).

- The Gators and the Cardinals have only met once, with Florida winning 8-1 in 1989 under Ian Duvenhage.
HISTORY VS FAU
- The Gators are 4-0 against FAU.
- The first meeting with William and Mary came in 1970 under Potter.ย Florida won 8-1 in Boca Raton.ย The two teams met the following year in Gainesville and the Gators took that match 8-0.
- In three meetings, the Gators have outscored the Owls 32-1.
- Florida and FAU have not squared off since 2010.
