Gators Conclude Nike Collegiate Invitational

The Florida men's golf team finished 13th at the Nike Collegiate Invitational.
PORTLAND, Ore. – The Florida men's golf team concluded play today at the Nike Collegiate Invitational at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.
Ricky Castillo was the Gators' top performer on the team's trip to the Pacific Northwest. The freshman shot 1 under in Tuesday's round to finish at 4 under overall and tied for 15th – his third-consecutive top-25 finish of the season.
After opening the Invitational with back-to-back even par performances, John Axelsen shot two over through the final round to finish at 2 over collectively and tied for 35th on the leaderboard.
Chris Nido and Quentin Debove shot 3 over and 5 over, respectively, to round out the Gators' counting scores in the final round.

On the team's overall performance...
"It is very disappointing to finish where we did this week. Our team has extremely high standards, and we are not meeting those at the moment."
On the approach they are going to take moving forward...
"We all have understand what is holding us back from performing the way we should. When we get some of those answers I know this team has the work ethic to attack the adversity. We have a huge opportunity at Isleworth in three weeks to get things right before fall season comes to an end."
On hosting Gators Golf Day this Friday...
"On a brighter note, we are all very excited to welcome so many Gators Golf alums back to Gainesville this weekend. The 50th Gators Golf Day this Friday will be a wonderful celebration of all the hard work that's gone into making the University of Florida's golf program so special."
