Manny Girona Named to 2019 SEC Community Service Team

Florida men's golf redshirt freshman Manny Girona has earned a spot on the 2019 SEC Community Service Team.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men's golf redshirt freshman Manny Girona has earned a spot on the 2019 SEC Community Service Team, as announced by the league office Thursday.
 
Girona was actively involved in SAAC and nominated by his team for the Teammate Award at the 2020 Florida Letterman Awards. He was also instrumental in the team's adoption of Theo Kelly, from Team Impact. Theo is a seven year old from Jacksonville that frequents Gainesville for treatment of his optic nerve glioma. Theo is now an honorary member of the Florida men's golf program. Girona also participated in Climb for Cancer, a foundation that works to improve the mental, physical and social well-being of cancer patients, survivors and their caregivers through funding of enrichment programs in arts, nature, sports and medicine.
 
Girona finished the 2019 season with a 73.05 stroke average, low round of 67, and best finish of T15. He competed in six events for the Gators in the three, four, and five lineup spots.
