
Gators Receive Nods in Preseason Polls

The Florida women's golf team was pegged as the No. 5 team in the nation by Golf Channel and the No. 12 team by Golfweek.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida women's golf team will open the 2019-20 season ranked as the No. 5 and No. 12 team in the nation by Golf Channel and Golfweek, respectively.
High expectations abound entering the season as the Gators field an experienced roster. Florida returns every player from its 2018-19 team with the sole addition of the No. 144 amateur in the world, Marina Escobar Domingo.
Florida is coming off of four-straight NCAA championship appearances, finishing 11th last year. The Gators' most recent NCAA performance was highlighted by returning senior Sierra Brooks who posted a 4-under 215 to finish second individually. As a unit, the Gators recorded an impressive seven top-five finishes during the 2018-19 season, including one win at the 2018 Cougar Classic.
The Gators will begin their season on Sept. 8 at the College of Charleston's Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C.
