GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 29 University of Florida women's tennis team returns home this weekend to host No. 41 Missouri and No. 20 Arkansas at Linder Stadium at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
The Gators and Tigers will square off at 5 p.m. ET on Friday before Florida wraps up its weekend of league play Sunday at 1 p.m. ET against Arkansas.
Florida will look to the friendly confines of the Ring Tennis Complex to help it return to its winning ways after dropping a pair of tight matches at No. 3 Georgia and No. 21 Tennessee last weekend. The Gators hung tough in both tilts but fell short in the matchups as they battled their third and fourth straight top 25 opponents.
Through its first 11 matches, senior McCartney Kessler leads UF with a 7-2 record. Playing from the Gators' top spot, Kessler has taken on some of the nation's best and she's more than held her own with three wins against ranked foes. Competing primarily from the No. 2 slot, junior Marlee Zein has acquitted herself well with a 6-3 record in dual match play. Kessler and Zein have also thrived in doubles, posting a team-best 7-2 record and they enter the weekend riding a seven-match winning streak.
The Gators feature two ranked singles players in No. 32 Kessler and No. 65 Layne Sleeth and in doubles, No. 26 Kessler and Zein comprise Florida's lone ranked pairing. Sleeth, a sophomore from Canada, has won three of her first four matches to open the dual match slate.

After claiming their conference opener over Mississippi State, the Tigers have dropped four-consecutive home matchups against the likes of Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Junior Bronte Murgett has been the Tigers primary option at the No. 1 singles spot, registering a 6-4 record so far. Senior Marta Oliveira has collected a team-best 10 dual match wins. On the doubles circuit, Murgett and Marta Oliveira have played to a 6-3 mark, competing on the club's top court. Chris Wootton, the team's interim head coach, made the move to Columbia in 2019 after spending the previous two seasons as assistant at USC.
No. 20 Arkansas enters the matchup 10-1 on the season and has played to a 4-1 mark in league competition. The Razorbacks saw their season-opening 10-match winning streak come to an end last time out against Kentucky, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Wildcats in Fayetteville. Arkansas has one ranked singles competitor in No. 110 Martina Zerulo and one ranked doubles tandem in No. 28 Tatum Rice and Lauren Alter. Courtney Steinbock, in her third season at the helm, leads the Razorbacks. Florida holds a 7-0 in terms of the all-time series vs. Missouri and against Arkansas the Gators have played to a 31-1 mark.
Following their two-match homestand, Florida returns to the rigors of the road on March 25 and 27 with a pair of matchups in the Magnolia State against Ole Miss and MSU.
