
Five Gators Advance To Finals On Day 3

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Five gators advance to the finals on day 3 of the NCAA Championships
To start it off for the gators on day 3 of the NCAA was Robert Finke in the 400 IM as he went 3.39.58 to place second in his heat and third overall, earning a spot in the A-final tonight.
Kevin Vargas was the next Gator to finish in the 400 IM, going 3.44.56 to place 20th overall in the prelims. Tyler Watson ended up 24th overall with a time of 3.46.27.
Eric Friese goes a personal best time of 44.98 to place third in his heat and sixth overall in the 100 fly. With that time Friese moves up to number four on the UF all-time list.
Kieran Smith goes out in 1:31.69 to place first in his heat and is second overall in the prelims, earning a spot in the A-final later tonight. In the same heat as Smith, Trey Freeman finishes in 6th and 18th overall with a time of 1:33.92. Alfonso Mestre went 1:35.86 to place seventh in his heat and 40th overall in the prelims.
Dillon Hillis was the lone Gator in the 100 breast, he went out in 51.27 to place first in his heat and was third overall, earning a spot in the A-final tonight.
In the 100 back Adam Chaney led the Gators as he went 45.24 to place third in his heat and tenth overall, earning a spot in the B-final tonight. Clark Beach went 46.44 in his heat to place sixth and 24th overall. Standings1. California 230
