
Pair of Men's Divers Look to Qualify for NCAA's at Diving Zones

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A pair of Gator men's divers will look to earn bids to the 2021 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Diving Zones on March 7-10 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center In Greensboro, North Carolina.
Leonardo Garcia and Anton Svirskyi will compete to earn bids to NCAA's on March 24-27 in Greensboro, N.C. The men swimmers who qualify for the championships will be announced here next week.
UF will be competing in Zone B for just 10 qualifying spots on the 1-meter and eight spots in both the 3-meter and platform.
In all three events, the top-18 preliminary scores will advance to the final round. Scores from both rounds will be combined to determine each individual's overall finish.
After qualifying for one event, a diver only needs to post a top-12 finish to earn a qualification in that respective event at NCAA's.

2019-20 Men's Diving Review
Both Garcia and Svireskyi will head into Zones fresh off a SEC Championship title as the Gators won their ninth-straight conference crown on Feb. 26 with 1,401 points over four days of competition in Columbia, Mo.
Garcia had a great start to his first season her at UF as he finished first on the 1 meter springboard and third on the 3 meter springboard at Georgia in the first meet of season.
Svirskyi ended up fourth on both the 1 and 3-meter springboards at the Georgia meet behind Garcia.
At the Auburn Fall Invitational, Garcia placed first on the platform, second on the 3-meter springboard, and sixth on the 1-meter springboard. Svirskyi finished seventh on both the platform and eight on the 1-meter board.
At the SEC Championships, Garcia placed seventh on the 1-meter board, eight on platform, and 12th on the 3-meter board.
Svirskyi finished seventh on the platform, and 23rd on the 1-meter and 3-meter board.
What's Next
Any qualifiers will join the remainder of Gators who qualify at the 2021 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on March 24-27 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center on the campus of North Carolina State University to wrap-up the 2020-21 campaign.
