The 27 honorees are the most for the Gators lacrosse team in program history

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida women's lacrosse team dominated in the classroom during the 2021 season as 27 student-athletes were named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll, as the league announced Thursday.

The 27 honorees are the most by the lacrosse team in program history.

Between lacrosse, baseball, golf, softball, tennis and track & field, the University of Florida had an astounding 132 student-athletes named to the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll.

On the field, Florida swept both the American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, while going undefeated in league play for the fifth-straight season. The Gators finished the season with an 18-3 record – making the program's sixth NCAA Quarterfinal. The squad collected four IWLCA All-America honors, 10 All-AAC accolades and swept the six major AAC postseason awards.

To be recognized for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
