
Gators Open XC Season at Home with Mountain Dew Invitational on Saturday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators men's and women's cross country teams are set to open their season at home with the annual Mountain Dew Invitational at the Mark Bostick Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 11.
The men will compete in a 6k race starting at 7:55 a.m., while the women will run in a 4k race beginning at 8:30 a.m. This will be the first time either team runs a 6k or 4k in the meet.
Last season, Gators Ethan Geiger and Angel Vicioso ran a strong race, placing third and eighth respectively, in the 8k. For the women, Payton Capes-Davis was the top Florida finisher with a 17th-place outing and Emily Culley was close behind after finishing in 21st in the 6k race.
In addition to the Gators, teams participating in the Mountain Dew Invitational are Bethune-Cookman, Daytona State College, Embry-Riddle, Flagler, Florida A&M (F), Florida State College at Jacksonville, Jacksonville, Lake Sumter State College, Lynn, Pasco-Hernando State College (F), Saint Leo, Seminole State College, South Florida State College (F), Stetson (M), Tampa, UCF (F) and Warner.
Fans are welcome to attend and encouraged to wear masks. Live results will be provided by Half-Mile Timing.
