GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Track and Field sprinter Joseph Fahnbulleh was named to The Bowerman 2022 Preseason Men's Watch List, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Thursday afternoon.
Fahnbulleh is making his debut on The Bowerman Watch List after a calendar year that included a 2021 NCAA Outdoor National Championship (200m) and a 5th place finish at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (200m).
He is the 14th male athlete in the Florida Track and Field program to make The Bowerman Watch List, a group that includes former Bowerman winners Grant Holloway (2019) and Marquis Dendy (2015). Florida is one of just two schools (Oregon) to have two male athletes win The Bowerman since the award began in 2009.
In 2021, Fahnbulleh was named a USTFCCCA First-Team Outdoor All-American in both the 100m and 200m. He was also a 2020 and 2021 USTFCCCA First-Team Indoor All-American (200m).
In Florida's all-time records, Fahnbulleh has the second fastest time in both the Indoor and Outdoor 200m, just behind former Olympian John Capel.
Fahnbulleh, along with the rest of the Florida Track and Field program, will begin the 2022 Indoor Track and Field Season next Friday and Saturday (Jan. 14 and 15) at the Clemson Invitational.
