Joseph Fahnbulleh Earns Spot on The Bowerman Men’s Mid-Indoor Watch List
Thursday, February 3, 2022 | Track and Field
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida sprinter Joseph Fahnbulleh was named to The Bowerman Men's Mid-Indoor Watch List as announced by the USTFCCCA on Thursday afternoon. This is his second straight appearance on the list this season.
Fellow Gator sprinter Jacory Patterson was in the 'receiving votes' category in this week's release.
Fahnbulleh is coming off a season in which he captured the NCAA Outdoor Championship in the 200 meters. He followed that up with a trip to the 2020 Olympic finals where he finished fifth in the 200 meters while representing Liberia.
The native of Hopkins, Minn. is yet to compete this season but is looking to make a return to the track at some point in the Indoor season.
Fahnbulleh is a four-time All-American and is one of 14 male athletes in the history of the Florida Track and Field program to be named to The Bowerman Watchlist. Former Gator NCAA Champions and All-Americans Marquis Dendy (2015) and Grant Holloway (2019) are both recipients of The Bowerman, making Florida one of just two schools (Oregon) to have multiple male athletes win the award since it began in 2009.
Florida has the most athletes in the nation on The Bowerman Watch List between men and women (3).
The Gators will get this weekend off before heading to the Tyson Invitational from Feb. 11-12 on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
