Florida Qualifies 19 Entries to NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships
Wednesday, March 2, 2022 | Track and Field
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The NCAA Division I Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced the list of this year's qualifiers for the NCAA Indoor Championships on Tuesday evening.
To automatically qualify for the championships, an athlete must have a top-16 qualifying mark in their respective event or be on a relay team inside the top-12 of the event. A select number of athletes outside the top-16 were added after scratches to qualified athletes that were injured or entered in multiple events.
Florida will send 17 individual entries and both 4x400 relay teams to Birmingham in search of individual NCAA titles and the ultimate prize; the team title.
On the women's side, Florida has 11 individual entries including double entries from Grace Stark (60m and 60mH) and Jasmine Moore (Long Jump and Triple Jump).
The Gators have three NCAA-leading marks on the women's side. Anna Hall (Pentathlon) and Moore (Long Jump and Triple Jump) will each be the top seed heading into their event next weekend.
The men will take six individual entries after Sam Austin was added to the list following scratches in the 800 meters.
Both 4x400 relay teams are within the top-8 on the national descending order list, including the men who are the current NCAA and World-leaders.
Meet the Gators heading to Birmingham next week in search of a National Championship.
