
No. 16 Gators Head North for Weekend Matchups with Kentucky, Vanderbilt

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Florida women's tennis will trek north to continue Southeastern Conference play on Friday and Sunday, matching up with No. 63 Kentucky and No. 41 Vanderbilt, respectively.
The No. 16 Gators are set to square-off with the Wildcats at 12 p.m. ET on Friday, Apr. 1, in Lexington, Ky., while Sunday's match (Apr. 3) at Vanderbilt will begin at 1 p.m. ET.
A LOOK AT THE SERIES
Friday will mark the 47th meeting between the Gators and Wildcats, with Florida holding a 43-3 all-time lead in the series. On the road, UF is 15-3 and last season the Orange & Blue defeated Kentucky, 5-1, at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
Vanderbilt and Florida have met 60 times in program history, with Sunday marking the 61st meeting. All-time, the Orange & Blue hold a 50-10 lead, including a 14-5 clip in Nashville. Last season, Florida was victorious at home, defeating the Commodores, 4-2.
NUMBER TO WATCH
McCartney Kessler is nearing a prestigious feat for the Gators, as she currently sits at 99 career singles wins. If Kessler wins one more match she will become the 31st member of the 100-win club in singles for Florida women's tennis. Currently, she owns a combined win total (singles & doubles) of 167, placing her 38th all-time in Florida history.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, Florida picked-up an important pair of victories at home, taking down No. 44 Ole Miss, 7-0 and No. 54 Mississippi State, 4-3. McCartney Kessler continued to dominate at the top singles slot, picking up her 10th-consecutive victory after earning back-to-back ranked wins, with all sets ending at 6-3.
Elsewhere on the singles court, it was a great weekend for the Gators. The trio of Carly Briggs, Sara Dahlstrom and Marlee Zein all ended with perfect 2-0 weekends to help the Orange & Blue to a 14-4 record and improving to 6-2 in SEC play.

In the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings, the Gators remained at No. 16 in the country while also staying steady at No. 15 in the United States Tennis Association rankings. Individually, two Gators find themselves ranked including:
