Florida Gators

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –  The Gators wrapped up Day 1 of the North Florida Invitational with a pair of event wins from Thea Jensen (Shot Put) and Pamela O'Brien (3000mS) on Friday evening in Jacksonville.
 
On her third attempt of the competition, Jensen tossed 16.08m/52-9.25 in the Shot Put to secure the top spot in the event.
 
Pamela O'Brien ran the 3000-meter steeplechase in 10:48.73 to take the victory at UNF.
 
Six Florida men finished in the top-15 of the men's 1500 meters with Ethan Geiger and Deshay Fernandes also running personal bests in the event.
 
The Gators return to action tomorrow morning with Edward Shelikoff and Markus Ballengee in the Men's Discus and Marissa Rung in the Women's Javelin.
 
Florida will also compete in the sprints, hurdles and jumps at the LSU Invitational all day tomorrow.
